How to change the region code of DVD drive in Acer laptop

A DVD region code is a restriction on the possible encoding of a DVD, which can restrict the DVD to playing in a specific region. To play a region-restricted DVD properly on your computer, you need to set the correct region code.

You can change the region code of the DVD drive up to 5 times. The region code cannot be changed again after 5 times, even if you reinstall the operating system or connect the DVD drive to another computer.

Change region code:

 1. Click Start, right-click My Computer (or Computer) and click Manage.

2. In the computer management interface, click Device Manager on the left.

3. Click the “+” sign in front of the DVD/CD-ROM drive. After expansion, it will show whether the DVD or Blu-ray drive is installed in your computer.

4. Double-click the DVD drive you want to use.

5. In the properties dialog box that opens, click the DVD region page.

6. The currently selected DVD area will be displayed at the bottom of the window. If you wish to change, select the country you wish to change from the list and click OK to confirm and close the dialog box.
