Since Lenovo notebooks are mobile computers, there are more opportunities for liquid to splash on the keyboard. Since most liquids are conductive, a spill on your keyboard can cause multiple shorts and potentially cause damage to your computer that is beyond repair. If liquid is spilled on your computer, do the following:
Note: Please make sure there is no liquid and AC power short circuit between the adapters (if in use). Although you may lose some data or work by shutting down your computer immediately, leaving your computer on may render your computer unusable.
1. Immediately and carefully unplug the AC power adapter.
2. Shut down the computer immediately. If the computer does not turn off, remove the battery. The faster the current through the computer is disconnected, the less likely it is that a short circuit will cause damage to the computer.
3. Carefully hold the computer display and keyboard firmly, and turn the computer over. Shake the computer to drain the liquid from the keyboard.
4. Turn the computer over, bottom side up, and place the keyboard on an absorbent surface. Place the keyboard on a flat surface, such as a chair seat, with the display hanging over the front of the seat.
5. Wait until you are sure that all liquids have dried before turning on the computer.
Note: If you want to replace the keyboard, you can buy a new keyboard. Or it is recommended that the user send it to a service station for repair.
