How to register fingerprints on Toshiba notebooks

How to register fingerprints on Toshiba notebooks:

Toshiba AV Note

 1. Go to the "Start" menu> "Programs">"Protector Suite QL">"User Registration".

If the current Vista account has not set a password before, the following dialog box will appear.

After clicking "Yes", enter the password twice to complete the password setting for the current Vista account.

2. Display the "Registration Wizard" screen.

3. You need to enter the password of the current Vista account once.

4. Enter the "Fingerprint Guide" wizard to guide users on how to correctly perform fingerprint scanning.

5. In the "Fingerprint Practice" interface, the user needs to perform 4 successful fingerprint scans before entering the next step of settings. If the practice fails, you can choose to "try again" or "skip the guide".

 6. Register a new fingerprint:

♦ Select the fingerprint you want to enroll by clicking the box above the fingerprint.

♦ Scan the selected fingerprint over the fingerprint sensor. To register a fingerprint, three successful images are required.

To delete a fingerprint, do the following:

♦ Select the fingerprint you want to delete by clicking the box above the fingerprint.

♦ Click OK.

7. Scan your fingerprint over the sensor or enter your Windows/Advanced Security backup password and click "Next".

8. Due to device memory limitations, the maximum number of fingerprints that can be stored is 21. If some of the registered fingerprints in the pass are not designated for power-on security of the device (such as if another device is connected), a power-on button will be displayed above each fingerprint. Default, the power-on button is displayed as "pressed". The corresponding fingerprint will be used for boot security. If you don't need a fingerprint for power-on security, but only for login, you can click the Power On button to delete it from the device memory.

9. Click Next to complete enrollment, or set other options (such as advanced security, see the section below).

Note: If you are not using a Windows password, you will be prompted to define a new password (non-empty). This is not required, but using a password increases the security of the software.
